Get a head start to your fall fun with this lightly competitive road race that is open to active visitors of all ages. Hosted by the Kitty Hawk Elementary School, the Flying Falcon Road Race is a great way for residents and vacationers to get into the local spirit while cruising through some of the more scenic sections of the central Outer Banks.
The race takes place bright and early at 8 a.m., and all participants are encouraged to sign up in advance to secure their spot. Registration for the event includes timing, event t-shirt, 5 carnival tickets, and digital finisher certificates, and 100% of the net proceeds are donated to the Kitty Hawk Elementary School PTA to promote and assist with student/teacher programs and needs. Awards are granted to the top three finishers in each race, and categories and registration prices are divided into three groups: ages 12 and under, ages 13-17, and adults. Followed immediately afterwards with the school’s fall carnival, the 5th Annual Kitty Hawk Elementary School Flying Falcon Road Race is a fantastic way for runners, walkers, and joggers of all ages to enjoy a little exercise and school spirit while helping out a very worthy Outer Banks cause.
