Look no further! “Bowen” is a well maintained oceanside cottage, featuring an open floor plan, which is perfect for spending quality time with the family! When you are looking for some privacy, there is a cozy sunroom which is perfect for relaxing with a great book or just taking a nap after a day on the beach. Your family will bond together in the quiet ambience of the Outer Banks as it should be.

Wake up early and take your cup of coffee to the deck so you can experience the amazing sunrise above the Atlantic Ocean. After a fun-filled day at the beach, you can relax in the hot tub while listening to the faint sounds of waves crashing along the shore. On those rainy days, you can still enjoy your favorite beverage while relaxing in the screened porch and listening to your favorite tunes. You can also take advantage of the sun decks when you are looking to escape the beach and catch a tan!

Aside from being steps away from the beach, you are just minutes from local shops and restaurants. Be sure to use the pedestrian pathway alongside of NC12 for a nice afternoon stroll, where you will encounter a ton of shopping and dining options! You can also utilize this pathway for a jog or bike ride!

Doesn't bust the budget

We stayed in Bowen decades ago and it was a bit sub-standard. Improvements have been made since then, and Bowen is a perfectly adequate, basic cottage. It would be nice if the appliances were replaced. As with many places near the ocean, appliances are starting to show their age. Also, many of the drains are slow, so some regular maintenance is necessary there, and the screened porch screens need repair. Bowen is not a lixury accomodation by any stretch of the imagination, but it's in a great location and has most of what you'd need for a reasonably-priced vacation.

The house is comfortable and has a nice blend of everything you need but not too fussy. The house is incredibly clean and the various decks were a nice touch. The neighborhood and super short walk to the beach were great. Just FYI, note that this listing doesn't list any available beach gear which is accurate.

OBX Week

The Bowen house was perfect for our week trip to OBX (2 families: 4 adults, 1 child, 2 dogs)! Great location (short walk to beach, close to town), clean, and good amenities (screened in porch and hot tub)!

Home is a great location. All was as described. Couldn't find a cutting board but overall kitchen was well supplied. Might suggest a TV added to master bedroom - NOT a complaint a suggestion!

WONDERFUL HOME FOR A SHARED FAMILY GROUP

We were there with our 2 adult children, their spouses and children. Every adult had their own room and the children shared the bunk room. It suited us perfectly. The house has 2 living spaces, a large kitchen and several porches 1 is large and covered. We loved the layout and the hot tub. Very clean with everything you needed. Washer and Dryer were a big plus with 4 children. Clothes line under porch was used and appreciated as well as the vacuum cleaner, nice touch. We had never been to Duck and were dismayed at the traffic into town but that is no reflection on the house. We are used to Avon and Hattaras. Loved the stores in town. Short walk to beach, brought a little red wagon and just pulled all our gear to the walkway.

"Bowen" is a perfect house for adults & children to enjoy their own spaces. The sun porch is great for just getting to read that great book, or maybe have a mid day nap. A lot of our homes do have clotheslines and they are greatly appreciated by our guests so all the swimming suits and beach towels can have a place to air and dry. Bowen House

Bowen was a great house for us. 4 houses from the beach at the north end of Duck, it was perfect and close to everything! We enjoyed the shared living space and the 4 bedrooms along the sides. The screened in porch and the hottub were great bonuses!

Great Cottage!

We had a wonderful time at Bowen's cottage. It very comfortably accommodated two small families and our four-legged friend. The walk to the beach was super short and the outside shower and hot tub were a huge plus. Duck is our favorite town on the Outer Banks - Would stay here again!

We had a very nice time and were able to relax completely.

The Bowen unit was GREAT! This was the first place we have ever stayed that had lots of room to put things away, and lots of room to cook. There was no need to push someone else's things out of the way, which was a great surprise. The unit was comfortable, quiet, and secure. The TV and internet amenities were superb.

Great Family Vacation

How wonderful to have a place close to the beach where we could take our small dog. Well set up for two small families sharing a kitchen if need be. We didn't use half the space of the home. Most certainly we would visit again.
