Join in the fun of one of the summer’s most highly anticipated fishing tournaments while supporting a wonderful local cause by signing up for the Carolina Boat Builders Tournament. Held during the end of July – which is a prime time of year for exceptional fishing – this tournament which celebrates its 23rd year in 2026 combines multiple days of angling action with some exceptional events that highlight the best of the Outer Banks.
The event kicks off on Wednesday, and after each full day of fishing, participants are treated to a few after-hours activities that highlight the unique local flavors of coastal North Carolina. Wednesday night features a dinner supplied by the event’s sponsor, while Thursday and Friday nights boast fantastic receptions, while the last night of the tournament features an awards dinner banquet that will leave everyone satisfied. Prizes are granted for multiple levels, and can be thousands of dollars for the top anglers, and all proceeds go to benefit a wholly deserving and local cause – the Dare County Boat Builders Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to preserving Dare County's boat building heritage through educational programs and scholarships. All in all, this tournament is a truly fantastic way to celebrate the fishing and boating lifestyle on the Outer Banks.
