Thoughtful touches abound, from hair dryers in every bathroom and two highchairs for the youngest travelers to free high-speed wireless internet, 10 TVs, eight parking spaces and an elevator that carries luggage and guests between floors. Each day brings a choice: splash in the glistening private pool, soak in the hot tub, shoot hoops at the basketball hoop, or explore the pristine Outer Banks coastline. The Duck Setting

Duck, North Carolina wraps a seven-mile coastline in a small village atmosphere while keeping local attractions close at hand. Spend your days swimming, surfing, fishing, crabbing or kayaking, then browse the shops and boutiques tucked into Duck's small shopping centers or choose from dining that ranges from a-la-carte to formal. Stroll or pedal the walking and bicycling trail that runs the entire length of town, and visit Duck Town Park, 11 acres of maritime forest on the Currituck Sound with a playground, soundside walkway, gazebo, picnic shelter and an amphitheater that hosts music, theatre and children's events through the summer.
