The owners of Southern Comfort have provided extras to make your stay enjoyable, including beach chairs. Two dogs are welcome with a fee, six parking spaces keep the whole group covered, and free high-speed wireless internet keeps everyone connected. The garage space offers tons of amenities to add to the fun: beach/pool toys, boogie boards, and beach chairs are available for your use. An outside shower makes rinsing off after a trip to the beach a breeze. Outdoor seating, a hot tub, a charcoal grill, and a basketball hoop are also available for long afternoons and easy evenings at home.

The middle level is for those quiet mornings to sleep in or just for spending time on the lovely covered deck reading a book. Bedding includes two king bedrooms (one has a private bath), a queen bedroom, and a bedroom with a pyramid bunk and a twin bunk, a smart setup for the younger members of the group. The second king bedroom has access to a full bath that can also be accessed from the hallway. The two king bedrooms have direct access to the covered back deck. A laundry room is located on this level, and two highchairs are on hand for the littlest travelers.

Duck is a small village atmosphere set along a lovely stretch of Outer Banks coastline, with shops, boutiques, and restaurants ranging from casual to formal tucked into several small shopping centers. A walking and bicycling trail runs the entire length of town, and the Duck Town Park spreads across 11 acres of maritime forest on the Currituck Sound with a playground, soundside walkway, gazebo, picnic shelter, and an amphitheater that hosts music, theatre, and children's events through the summer.
