Set in the heart of Kill Devil Hills, Almost Heaven boasts uninterrupted oceanfront views along with "across the street views" of the historic Wright Brothers National Memorial, and yes, this home is pet-friendly with two dogs welcome for a fee. This oceanfront home offers an immaculate view of the ocean from the top level and a private walkway to the beach that ends with a large, elevated seating area where family and friends can claim a front row view of the Atlantic Ocean. An elevator makes getting from floor to floor easier for elderly travelers, and it's a breeze to transport luggage and groceries to their appropriate level. Throughout the house, there are nine TVs, and free high-speed wireless internet keeps everyone connected.

The front yard presents incredible landscaping. The backyard offers a spectacular 34.0 x 17.0 private pool, a hot tub, a cabana, a gas grill, an outdoor shower, a volleyball area, a basketball hoop, and that private walkway to the beach with its dune-top deck. The lower level holds an expansive recreation room with entertainment for all to enjoy, while a media area invites quieter evenings indoors.

Sleeping arrangements suit large family groups and multi-generational gatherings: 10 bedrooms total, including six kings, two doubles, and five pyramid bunks, served by 10 full baths and one half bath, with seven of the bedrooms enjoying private baths. Ten parking spaces make arrivals easy for big groups, and an EV charger is available onsite. Check-in is on Saturday.

This home's location places you near the Wright Brothers National Memorial, excellent OBX restaurants, shopping, jogging and biking trails, playgrounds, and a variety of nightly activities for the whole family. Kill Devil Hills sits in the heart of the Outer Banks, convenient to grocery stores, surf shops, and colorful boutiques along the beach road and the bypass, with the movies close by. Oceanfront homes like this one enjoy direct beach access.

Almost Heaven is not your typical oceanfront home. It is a family-owned home that takes great pride in yearly updates to ensure guests, their families, and friends have an incredible experience! Many personal touches are present, most completed by the family. A recent initiative was to name the bedrooms, reflecting local heritage, that will assist guests in planning and assigning rooms. The names of the ten bedrooms are: Captain's Quarters, First Mate, Waterfowl, Light House, Surfboard, Offshore, Sunshine, Orville and Wilbur, Yellowfin, and Loggerhead. The owners of Almost Heaven are constantly making upgrades, as this home is their home when you're not there.

Updates for 2026: New state-of-the-art three-level elevator, new kitchen lighting and chandeliers over dining room tables, updated landscaping, new pool liner (please no dogs in pool!), updated frosted-glass master bathroom window, new gas grill.

Updates for 2025: New house sign that makes the house/name visible from the road for easy identification, ground floor rec room completely updated with new LVP flooring, new kitchenette area with live edge countertop and new beverage fridge that holds 20 bottles of wine and/or 78 cans, upgraded recessed lighting and fixtures in the top floor bedroom and bathroom, upgraded lighting throughout, new custom round dining room table with chairs, new landscape roping surrounding the manicured yard, upgraded landscaping with Palm Trees, Little Gem Magnolia Trees, Oleanders, and Cactus Plants, new pool heater and additional pool side chairs.

Updates for 2024: Two new custom dining room tables with benches and chairs (one table seats 14, the other 10), a new sectional sofa with chaise lounge in the great room, a new foosball table in the rec room, new rugs and comforters in select rooms, new furniture in one middle floor king bedroom, and four new refrigerators. A large 32 cubic foot refrigerator/freezer with icemaker replaced the kitchen fridge and a wine cooler that holds 20 bottles of wine and 78 cans was added, the full-size refrigerator in the rec room was replaced, and the cabana mini fridge was replaced.

Path to Beach: Due to shifting ocean currents and wind, it is normal for sand to accumulate on this home's beach steps and walkway.

EV Charger: A payment of approximately $0.45/kWh is required to use the onsite charger. Payment is made via a QR-code available on the charger at the house.

Pool: Pool heated by heat pump. Ambient air temperature of 60 degrees or higher is needed to heat the pool, meaning that if the temperature drops below 60 degrees the pump will not continue to heat. Max pool temperature is 80 degrees. The waterfall feature must be turned off when the pool heat is turned on. 2026 pool open dates: 4/4/2026 to 10/24/2026, with pool heat available for $700.00. 2027 pool open dates: 3/27/2027 to 10/23/2027, with pool heat available for $700.00.
