Located on the oceanfront in the quintessential beach town of Nags Head, Exta Sea is an outstanding choice for your next Outer Banks vacation. With two rec rooms and a theater, nine bedrooms that each have a connected bathroom, and a large gathering space with an open concept floor plan on the top floor, your group can come together to make unforgettable memories and still retreat to private space to rest and recharge for another day of vacation fun.

The private pool area offers far more than a refreshing swim. There is a bubbling hot tub, a sheltered poolside cabana with seating, and plenty of loungers for stretching out and relaxing all week. A private walkway leads to the sand, enhanced by a dune top gazebo with views as far as you can see north, south, and east. The sun comes up over the ocean and sets over the sound, and with decks on both sides of the house, you never have to miss the colors that either one paints across the sky.

Beyond the short walk over the dune to the beach, an elevator serves the home, nine parking spaces welcome a large group, an EV charger is available onsite, and free high-speed wireless internet keeps everyone connected. Two dogs are welcome with a fee, and check-in is on Saturday.

Bedding & Baths

Exta Sea sleeps your group in nine bedrooms: eight kings and one bedroom with two pyramid bunks. The home offers nine full bathrooms and two half bathrooms, with eight bedrooms enjoying a private bath. Thirteen TVs, a DVD player, a home theater, and two recreation rooms are spread throughout the house, so there is always another place to gather.

The Nags Head Setting

Nags Head has been the historic center of family beach vacations on the Outer Banks since the 1940s and 50s, and this stretch of coastline shows why. Guests staying nearby enjoy proximity to Jockey's Ridge State Park, the tallest natural sand dune system on the East Coast, with hiking, nature trails, picnicking, sail boarding, a museum, and a visitor center. The Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve offers 1400 acres of maritime forest, more than five miles of trails, 50 species of birds, and deciduous hardwoods hundreds of years old. Anglers can fish from the beach or one of three piers, including Jeannette's Pier with its aquarium annex, wind turbines, and interpretive displays. Northern Nags Head puts miniature golf, go-carting, a brand-name outlet mall, specialty shops, and restaurants ranging from casual take-out to fine dining within easy reach, and historic Roanoke Island, the NC Aquarium, and the fishing village of Wanchese are a short drive away.

Updates for 2025: New great room furniture, the great room fireplace was redone, fresh interior paint throughout, new AV equipment including a Sonos speaker system on the top floor deck, new screen and stereo equipment in the theater room.

Pool: The 30.0 x 18.0 private pool is open 4/4/2026 - 10/24/2026 and 3/27/2027 - 10/23/2027. Pool heat is available for $600.00 in both the 2026 and 2027 seasons. Pool heated by heat pump. Ambient air temperature of 60 degrees or higher is needed to heat the pool, meaning that if the temperature drops below 60 degrees the pump will not continue to heat. Max pool temperature is 80 degrees.

Seasonal Cabana Service: Service dates for the 2026 season are 05/02/26 - 09/19/26. Service dates for the 2027 season are 05/01/2027 - 09/18/2027. This home receives beachside cabana & beach chair set-up services during your stay. This complimentary service includes one 10x10 cabana tent and six beach chairs. Set-up hours are 10am to 5pm daily (except check-in/check-out day), weather permitting. This service is not available for partial-week stays and is subject to local ordinances. Service provided by Farmdog Beach Services. Additional add-on services and other rentals are available upon request for an additional charge.

EV Charger: A payment of approximately $0.45/kWh is required to use the onsite charger. Payment is made via a QR-code available on the charger at the house.

Special Access Amenities: First floor shared bathroom has a low barrier shower with seat and grab bar as well as a roll under sink. Please note that none of our homes are ADA compliant. Contact our office for additional information.

2027 Holiday Week Check-In: Our offices will be closed on December 25, 2027 for the Christmas Day holiday. If your 2027 lease check-in date is on Christmas Day please note that we will work to make special arrangements to alter your check-in date.
