Welcome to Plover Place, a semi-oceanfront Outer Banks retreat where the Atlantic is just across the street, the private pool is waiting in the backyard, and five spacious, welcoming bedrooms give everyone a comfortable place to land. Draped in shades of blue and white with calming coastal decor throughout, this Kill Devil Hills home keeps the vacation vibes running high from the moment you arrive. The open-concept top floor holds the great room, dining area, kitchen, and a lofted sitting area, all with amazing views of the horizon. On the ground floor, a large recreation room features comfy seating, a wet bar with a full-sized refrigerator, and laundry facilities. The middle and top floors have east-facing decks with seating, perfect for catching the refreshing breeze off the ocean.

One of the most desirable hangout spots at Plover Place is the fenced backyard, home to a private pool, a hot tub, plenty of outdoor seating, a cabana, and a gas grill for tasty meals all week long. An elevator makes moving between levels and hauling up luggage and groceries simple, and there are five parking spaces for the group. A short walk puts you on the shore, where you can spend your vacation days watching the waves roll in and soaking up the sun. Free high-speed wireless internet, nine TVs, and Saturday check-in round out the details, and two dogs are welcome with a fee so the whole family can come along.

Kill Devil Hills

Kill Devil Hills sits in the heart of the Outer Banks and is a favorite base for active families. Several public beach accesses line this stretch of the Atlantic, with lifeguards stationed every half-mile during the summer season. Nearby you'll find bike and walking paths, playgrounds, a community skate park, go-carts, bowling, miniature golf, laser-tag, and the movies, plus the historic Wright Brothers Memorial, where the age of aviation began in 1903. Grocery stores, surf shops, colorful boutiques, and dining from family fare to finer restaurants are all within easy reach along the beach road and the bypass, and a drive to Colington Island takes you through maritime forest toward the sound and fresh local seafood.

Pool: Pool heated by heat pump. Ambient air temperature of 60 degrees or higher is needed to heat the pool, meaning that if the temperature drops below 60 degrees the pump will not continue to heat. Max pool temperature is 80 degrees.
