This six-bedroom Carolina Designs home in the Carolina Dunes community sits high on a dune just north of Duck village, with a private pool, hot tub, and beach access 100 yards away.

Overview

The home has been designed to take full advantage of its high vantage point. Ocean views are highlighted from the great room, the top floor bedroom, the open and screened-in porches, and from that 4th floor crows nest, where the horizon can be enjoyed almost unobstructed toward both the ocean and the sound. Every bedroom with a private bath has access to decks furnished with comfortable Polywood outdoor seating with cushions, plus a hammock for slow afternoons. Free high-speed wireless internet keeps everyone connected, and a seasonal fireplace (October through March) adds warmth to cooler-weather stays.

The private pool, measuring 26 by 13 feet, is a hit on hot summer days. The pool can be heated in the shoulder seasons for an additional fee. Unwind in the hot tub, or rent a bike and cruise into the quaint town of Duck, accessible by a multi-use paved path. The family-friendly town offers plenty of restaurants and cafes, boutiques, a soundside boardwalk, seasonal events, live music, and activities such as watersports, yoga, and more. Duck's walking and bicycling trail runs the entire length of the village.

The beach access is just a short walk of about 100 yards, and the community of Carolina Dunes also offers a sound access where you can easily launch a kayak, head out on a stand up paddleboard, or simply relax and watch the sun set over the Currituck Sound. An added bonus to renting First View is the pool and beach gear the owner keeps in the guest outdoor closet. There are several beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and beach toys. With eight parking spaces, a gas grill, two outdoor showers, a basketball hoop in the driveway, and a highchair on hand, this OBX vacation rental is ready for a large group. Please note this home does not allow pets and features a Sunday check-in.

Pool: The pool is heated by a heat pump. Ambient air temperature of 60 degrees or higher is needed to heat the pool, meaning that if the temperature drops below 60 degrees the pump will not continue to heat. Max. pool temperature is 80 degrees. 2026 pool dates are 4/5/2026 to 10/25/2026 and 2027 pool dates are 3/28/2027 to 10/24/2027, with pool heat available for $500.00.
