Whitecaps is a seven bedroom oceanfront Carolina Designs home at Milepost 16 in Nags Head, where morning walks and afternoon fishing lines fill in easily around beach days. Inside, 3,100 square feet unfold across three floors, from a ground level rec room to a top floor great room facing the Atlantic.

Overview

Seven bedrooms, six full baths, a fully fenced 24x12 private pool, and a hot tub give a large group room to spread out at this oceanfront OBX vacation rental. The great room, kitchen, and dining area on the top floor offer uninterrupted views of the ocean, painting the east wall in the natural beauty of the horizon. The private pool can be heated for an additional fee, and many loungers and chairs are positioned around it to ensure you get the most out of your sunny vacation days. The hot tub is a fitting place to end each evening. A gate door from the pool fence leads to a shared set of steps that take you onto the dune and towards what everyone visits the area for: the beach!

With eight TVs, free high speed wireless internet, two highchairs, seven parking spaces, and two dogs welcome for an additional fee, Whitecaps is set up for the whole crew, four legged travelers included. Check-in is on Saturday, and a seasonal fireplace (October through March) makes the great room just as inviting on a cool weather escape.

The Nags Head Location

Nags Head has been the historic center of Outer Banks family beach vacations since the 1940s and 50s, and the setting at Milepost 16 puts you close to it all. Jennette's Pier is nearby, where you can walk the pier or drop a fishing line into the ocean. Jockey's Ridge State Park and the Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve are also in town. Farther north in town you'll find specialty shops and restaurants ranging from casual take-out to fine dining.

Pool: The 2026 pool season runs 4/4/2026 through 10/24/2026, and the 2027 season runs 3/27/2027 through 10/23/2027. Pool heat is available for $500.00.
