The Nags Head Setting

Nags Head has been the historic center of Outer Banks family beach vacations since the 1940s and 50s, and Amadeus places you right in the middle of it. Jockey's Ridge State Park, the tallest natural sand dune system on the East Coast, offers hiking, nature trails, picnicking and a museum, while the Nags Head Woods Ecological Preserve protects 1400 acres of maritime forest with more than five miles of trails. Fish from the beach or one of three piers, including the fully renovated Jeannette's Pier, and fill the rest of the week with mini golf, go-carts, an outlet mall, specialty shops, and restaurants that range from take-out to fine dining. Historic Roanoke Island, the NC Aquarium, and the fishing village of Wanchese are all an easy drive away.
