The Outer Banks Brewing Station, established in 2001, is the first wind powered brewpub in the U.S. and an icon on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Look for the 92 foot wind turbine in the backyard beer garden. A pub by the classic European style of a ‘public house’, the Brewing Station considers itself an important member of the community and is family friendly during lunch and dinner hours. Families can enjoy live music, beer and food inside and out, while the little ones play on the pirate ship and the older ones play a friendly game of corn hole. It’s also a great place to wait for your table during the busy summer season.

The Brewing Station offers something for everyone on the menu. Some favorites include seared scallops over risotto, shrimp and grits (featured in Guy Fieri’s show, Drive Ins, Diners & Dives), classic fish and chips and local seared tuna. End your meal with one of our dessert specials from our in-house pastry chef, or share an old favorite like chocolate lava or Tina’s famous carrot cake.

The Beer!! A rotating beer list takes advantage of seasonal ingredients and offers many styles for many tastes. A beer flight of 4 (or more!) styles is a must for the beer lovers in your group. The Olsch is a great gateway beer for introducing the skeptic to the world of craft brewing, and the LemonGrass Wheat Ale, which won a silver medal in the World Beer Cup, has a cult-like following. Brewing Station beer is also available in 16 oz. can conditioned four packs or a 2 liter growler to go.

Recognized as an ocean friendly establishment by the Ocean Plastic Project, Inc. and Outer Banks Chapter of Surfrider Foundation in their on going effort to reduce, recycle and encourage patrons to “ditch the straw”, the Brewing Station remains in the forefront among businesses, responding to the challenge to become eco-friendly to help preserve this fragile, unique area.
