About this Property

  • 4.5 Bathrooms

Semi-oceanfront, spacious, pet-friendly home with easy beach access, fantastic ocean views, a private heated pool, 18 x 10, and recreation room on a tree-lined street is the perfect vacation setting for family, friends, and Toto too!

Weather won’t matter as you come and go with the dry, under-house entry. Walk into the lower level to find a hall that leads to a queen bedroom with cable and a new mattress, full bath and a recreation room. The rec room has a 58" smart TV with cable, an X-Box 360 which doubles as a DVD player, Wii, more than ample comfy seating, and a full-size refrigerator.

On the second level, two spacious king en suites with new mattresses feature deck access with room darkening curtains, TVs with cable, and private baths, one with a double sink vanity. Two additional bedrooms each have smart TVs/DVD players and share a full hall bath with a long double sink vanity. One bedroom has a queen bed with a new mattress and the other has two twin beds with new box springs. Rounding out this level are a laundry room and a linen closet.

Continue up the stairs, to the vaulted, open-concept great room which is flooded with natural light from wall-to-wall windows. Plenty of counter space allows for prepping delicious meals in the well-appointed kitchen, complete with two pantries. The kitchen now features a new large french door refrigerator. Food shopping is quick and easy as a full-service grocery store is only a half-mile away! Plentiful seating is available for eating at the dining room table and new barstools at the kitchen counter. The family room has three new couches, a bench, new coffee and end tables, and a new console table with three stools - abundant for lounging to catch a movie, or play a game of Wii.

Enjoy a coffee, cocktail, or a book in the sun room. A bright, recently updated half bath is tucked away around the corner for your convenience. Walk out onto an expansive deck, lined with ten new tall Adirondack chairs to take in the sights and sounds of the ocean or relax in the 7-person hot tub. Head up one more story to the crow’s nest for true 360-degree, panoramic views from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pamlico Sound. When the sun goes down, the stargazing is spectacular!

Boardwalk beach access is approximately 100 feet from the home. The wooden walkway, with stairs over the dune enables an easy-breezy setup for a perfect beach day, and is very convenient to pop back to the house for a quick lunch!

Transition from beach to pool by taking advantage of one of the two outdoor showers. Store your chairs and umbrellas in the beach gear corral under the house. Enjoy hours of fun in your private heated pool! Park yourself in a chair in either the sun or shade, surrounded by a bevy of whimsical, new fence art. Wide stairs make for an easy entrance into the shallow end of the pool, with a ledge seat in the deep end to hang out and beat the heat.

Avon has something for everyone including a spa, shops, and multiple dining options. For the fisherman, surf cast from the beach or try your hand about a mile away on the Avon Pier. Drive north to Oregon Inlet or south to Hatteras Village for all types of charter fishing!

Stop by soon and don’t forget to try our estate grown wines in our stores or visit our vineyard and winery, Sanctuary Vineyards, located adjacent to the original Cotton Gin in Jarvisburg.

Most know The Cotton Gin as a must-stop shop for fine gifts, beachwear, souvenirs and so much more, but this retailer has a long-standing history within the Outer Banks. A local landmark that holds almost a century of memories, The Cotton Gin started from humble beginnings and continues to adapt to the times and tourists. Tommy Wright’s family has been in the Outer Banks for nearly 200 years. His great-great grandfather, Jacob Francis Wright, shipwrecked in Duck back in the early 1800s. Calling these barrier islands his new home, Wright and his family acclimated to their new environment.

Adaptation is a common theme for the Wright family. Tommy and his wife Candace, who continue to steer The Cotton Gin, have seen not only their business change with the times, but the Outer Banks as a vacation destination as well. A farm market in Jarvisburg eventually transformed and flourished into several retail locations dotting the Outer Banks.

“As the area changed and tourism took off in the 1960s, the family saw people coming for vacations, so they began to grow vegetables and things developed from there,” says Tommy Wright. The Wright family expanded upon the farm market and began to remodel a working cotton gin, later transforming the gin into The Cotton Gin general store in the late 1960s. While the additions to the farm store drew visitors, it was their encounters with the Wright family that kept people coming back year after year, which is something that remains true today.
