Welcome to Whitewater Winds, a 10-bedroom oceanfront in the spectacular community of Pine Island. A prime beachfront location means the Atlantic is at your doorstep, making it easy to enjoy the pristine Corolla coastline. Outdoors, two levels of east-facing decks provide a relaxing place to lounge, take in awe-inspiring views, hear the sound of the waves, and feel the sea breeze rolling off the ocean. Take a refreshing dip in the private pool by day, and rejuvenate in one of two hot tubs by night. Inside you'll find ten bedrooms, a rec room, a theater, and an open oceanview great room. The community of Pine Island is both quiet and centrally located, so you can easily access grocery stores, boutiques, restaurants, and activities in the villages of both Duck and Corolla.

The lowest level of this home offers a theater room. Pop some popcorn and load up your favorite movie on the big screen! The rec room includes armchairs, a flatscreen TV, a pool table, arcade games, and a kitchenette with a sink, mini-fridge, icemaker, and microwave. A convenient full bath is adjacent to the rec room, with a door that opens to the pool area. Three bedrooms are available on this level - one king with a private bath, one with a queen bed, and the other with two twin bunks.

Outside, the pool area includes string lighting, a hot tub, ping-pong table, a sheltered poolside bar with an outdoor TV and sink, an outdoor shower, and a grill area with a Charbroil six-burner propane grill and a Big Green Egg charcoal grill.

Please note this home offers a tie-in walkway to the community beach access, which is directly to the north.

Seasonal Cabana Service: Service dates for the 2025 season are 05/03/25 - 09/20/25. Service dates for the 2026 season are 05/02/26 - 09/19/26. This home receives beachside cabana & beach chair set-up services during your stay. This complimentary service includes one 10x10 cabana tent and six beach chairs. Set-up hours are 10am to 5pm daily (except check-in/check-out day), weather permitting. This service is not available for partial-week stays and is subject to local ordinances. Service provided by Farmdog Beach Services. Additional add-on services and other rentals are available upon request for an additional charge.

Pool: Heated by propane. Max. temp is 85 degrees.

Most know The Cotton Gin as a must-stop shop for fine gifts, beachwear, souvenirs and so much more, but this retailer has a long-standing history within the Outer Banks. A local landmark that holds almost a century of memories, The Cotton Gin started from humble beginnings and continues to adapt to the times and tourists. Tommy Wright’s family has been in the Outer Banks for nearly 200 years. His great-great grandfather, Jacob Francis Wright, shipwrecked in Duck back in the early 1800s. Calling these barrier islands his new home, Wright and his family acclimated to their new environment.

 

Adaptation is a common theme for the Wright family. Tommy and his wife Candace, who continue to steer The Cotton Gin, have seen not only their business change with the times, but the Outer Banks as a vacation destination as well. A farm market in Jarvisburg eventually transformed and flourished into several retail locations dotting the Outer Banks.

 

“As the area changed and tourism took off in the 1960s, the family saw people coming for vacations, so they began to grow vegetables and things developed from there,” says Tommy Wright. The Wright family expanded upon the farm market and began to remodel a working cotton gin, later transforming the gin into The Cotton Gin general store in the late 1960s. While the additions to the farm store drew visitors, it was their encounters with the Wright family that kept people coming back year after year, which is something that remains true today.
