Ground Level: Ground Level Conveniences include a cavernous fenced-in yard with a private pool and constructed-in kiddie pool, fire pit, hot tub, tiki bar, outdoor shower, and a carport and massive driveway that accommodates up to 8 cars.  Through the carport, you will find access to the elevator, private saltwater pool, and hot tub.  Head inside to find a theater room, a game room, a kitchenette, a video gaming area, a half bathroom, a bedroom, and ample deck access that leads to the backyard.  The game room is equipped with an 8-foot pool table, flat-screen TV, high-top table, access to a half bathroom, and a wet bar with a full refrigerator and microwave. Unwind after a day in the sun with a movie in the theater room equipped with real theater seats and a home theater system with an 85-inch TV. You will find the video gaming room ideal for the gamer in your group!  Please note that gaming systems are not supplied, but hookups for your own system are accessible. Through the hallway is Bedroom #1, featuring a King bed, an ensuite full bathroom, deck access, and an attached room with a Pyramid Bunk Bed (Twin over Full).

Mid Level: On the middle level you will find four spacious bedrooms all with ensuite full bathrooms, flat-screen cable TVs, and access to covered decks. Bedrooms #2 and #3 are each furnished with a King bed and they are ocean-facing.  Bedroom #4 is furnished with a Twin bed and Twin Bunk Bed… ideal for the little ones in the group!  Bedroom #5 is disability friendly and is furnished with a King bed and has a village-facing covered deck. The attached bathroom has a roll-in shower and accessible sink. The laundry area is also located on this level with 2 washers and 2 dryers.

Top Level: The top floor features the well-appointed chef’s kitchen, main living and dining areas offering ocean vistas, a half bathroom, a sizable bedroom with a massive ensuite bathroom, as well as broad ocean-facing decks.  The living area includes a full entertainment center with a flat-screen TV, DVD player, and a huge dining area that seats up to 14. The dreamy kitchen is equipped with all you will need to show off your cooking skills-- plenty of cookware, extensive granite counters, double stainless appliances, and a grandiose island that seats 6. On this level, you will find an impressive King bedroom with an ensuite full bathroom with a shower and double sinks. Access the ocean-facing sun decks, from the living area, with plenty of seating and a park grille.

Linens and towels are supplied all year. This home will provide sheets for all beds and the beds will be made except for sleep couches, top bunk beds, and trundle beds in which case the sheets are included. This home also provides 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth per person the home sleeps, 2 hand towels per full bathroom, 1 hand towel per half bathroom, and a bath mat for each shower or tub.

Booking: During the booking process you will be asked to enter a credit card number, nothing will be charged to this card. After booking, you will receive an e-mail to sign your lease agreement and make your advance payment electronically. You will have 3 days to sign your lease agreement and pay your advance deposit to avoid cancellation. We offer optional travel insurance that you can opt in or out of on your lease agreement. Your final payment will be due 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations booked within 45 days of arrival will have 72 hours to sign the lease agreement and submit payment in full.

Most know The Cotton Gin as a must-stop shop for fine gifts, beachwear, souvenirs and so much more, but this retailer has a long-standing history within the Outer Banks. A local landmark that holds almost a century of memories, The Cotton Gin started from humble beginnings and continues to adapt to the times and tourists. Tommy Wright’s family has been in the Outer Banks for nearly 200 years. His great-great grandfather, Jacob Francis Wright, shipwrecked in Duck back in the early 1800s. Calling these barrier islands his new home, Wright and his family acclimated to their new environment.

 

Adaptation is a common theme for the Wright family. Tommy and his wife Candace, who continue to steer The Cotton Gin, have seen not only their business change with the times, but the Outer Banks as a vacation destination as well. A farm market in Jarvisburg eventually transformed and flourished into several retail locations dotting the Outer Banks.

 

“As the area changed and tourism took off in the 1960s, the family saw people coming for vacations, so they began to grow vegetables and things developed from there,” says Tommy Wright. The Wright family expanded upon the farm market and began to remodel a working cotton gin, later transforming the gin into The Cotton Gin general store in the late 1960s. While the additions to the farm store drew visitors, it was their encounters with the Wright family that kept people coming back year after year, which is something that remains true today.
