Chef Phongrit “Pok” Choeichom has been entrenched in the Outer Banks food scene since he moved here from Thailand as a small boy. He spent the bulk of his young life rocketing through the ranks at some of the area’s most acclaimed dining establishments, beginning with his family’s much-loved Thai restaurant. After a highly formative stint spent cooking in New York City as a young man, Chef “Pok” returned to the beach to make use of his newfound techniques. His subsequent innovation of a handful of local fine dining menus earned him a post as Executive Chef, from which he was propelled into the role of restaurateur.
Single Fin Bistro Bar & Grill in Nags Head is Chef Pok’s second restaurant venture. His first, Pok's Art, focuses on fusing various styles of Asian fare. Single Fin calls on Pok's cultural food fluency to showcase an unprecedented synthesis of intercontinental cuisines. Only the finest ingredients are used to create original renditions of bistro favorites like prime steaks, fresh seafood and choice fowl. The menu also features tapas and a distinct selection of sushi, as well as nightly specials.
For the seasoned chefs at Single Fin, sushi is an artform. They've created rolls that haven't been tried before, but their creativity lives beyond their recipes. They attend to the presentation of their plates just as earnestly as they do the taste. Every serving is elegantly prepared and delicately delivered.
The craftsmen at Single Fin Bistro Bar & Grill offer a culinary experience unmatched in quality and care. Pair your meal with a cocktail, beer or wine from the full bar, and savor every second you're here.
