Rainbow Connection, a four-bedroom Carolina Designs cottage in Duck's Sandy Ridge, sits 254 yards from the beach access. Decks drape the cottage. Views reach from ocean to sound from seemingly every standpoint, and because so little development lies to the north, the beaches of Sandy Ridge are generally spacious and uncrowded.

A quick walk to the end of the street leads to the Sandy Ridge community pool, open to guests of Rainbow Connection. At the other end of this quiet road you will find the community beach access. Draped in decks, this cottage appeals to the vacationer who likes to spend time outdoors as well as relax at home, and it is classically decorated with Outer Banks style. Four spacious bedrooms are ideal for accommodating a single family or a smaller group, with a king, a queen, two twins, two twin bunksets, and a sleepsofa in the great room. Two full baths and a half bath serve the home, and free high-speed wireless internet, five TVs, two DVD players, and a highchair round out the interior. Outside, four parking spaces, a gas grill, and an outdoor shower make beach days easy. The end of the rainbow is located in Sandy Ridge in Duck.

Duck is a family favorite among Outer Banks villages, with a small village atmosphere, an impressive collection of shops and restaurants, and a walking and bicycling trail that runs the entire length of town. Swimming, surfing, fishing, crabbing, and kayaking are all close at hand from this OBX vacation rental.

Community Pool: The community pool is open and available for guest use from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The pool is unheated.
