With a big bar on one side, and a dining room on the other, The Sandbar & Grille is equipped to please the palate and the spirit, for lunch, dinner, late night and in-between. The full menu, which includes a kids' menu, satisfies all tastes with appetizers that include a shellfish steamer sampler, fried green tomatoes, a hushpuppy basket and ½ rack baby-back ribs. Lunch offerings, in addition to a selection of hamburgers, include choices like Cajun roastbeef po’ boy, fish catch of the day, and ham and blue cheese bacon chicken sandwich. The extra brave can try the Smoldering Ash Burning Down the House challenge ---eat 12 hot-sauce-drenched wings in 20 minutes with no water, and the wings are on the restaurant. Dinner options are a bit more expansive, with selections that include mango stuffed crabcakes, brown sugar seared ribeye and Creole jumbo prawn shrimp & grits. Late-night menu --- including cheese fries, club sandwich, triple-decker BLT, 3-cheese hot turkey --- is served until 1:30 a.m. A complete domestic, import and microbrew beer selection includes six beers on draught. Wine by the glass or bottle and a menu of specialty drinks are also available. Live entertainment is offered on Friday and Saturday.
