The Fortunate Glass

Wine lovers will adore The Fortunate Glass - a wine and tapas bar that has a 21 page menu, with 20 pages dedicated to wine (and beer) alone. Located in a central section of Downtown Wilmington, this little eatery is the perfect spot to “wine” down after a full day of shopping and sightseeing in the port city.

There are dozens of wines and beers to choose from, which is a good place to start before perusing the traditional tapas menu. Once a beverage has been selected, it’s time to choose from the many options which, naturally, can pair perfectly with a glass of wine. Patrons will want to start with one of the extensive cheese or cured meat plates, which features selections from all over the world, including Italian beef, ham, and sausage, and French, Spanish and even North Carolina cheeses. After the initial course, hungry wine drinkers can move on to the small plates, which include everything from country paella to truffled mushroom pizza, and then finish off with a dessert, like the chocolate torte, the seasonal cheesecake, or the chef’s daily homemade special.

Always delicious for a light meal or a sample of wines and cuisines from around the world, The Fortunate Glass is an inspired destination for wine and food lovers alike.
