Sea Captains Calabash Seafood

Sea Captains Calabash Seafood is a fairly traditional seafood restaurant that features a host of seafood selections in addition to southern-influenced fare. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this casual eatery will satisfy a craving for a vast selection of seafood favorites on a modest budget.

The restaurant is found just north of Wilmington along US Highway 17, and is distinctive for its vintage, one-story exterior and glowing sign. The menu is just as classic, with a nice array of the basics – from breakfast platters with eggs, sausage and home fries, to hand-breaded seafood baskets and platters. This eatery is best for seafood fans, as the bulk of the three-page lunch and dinner menus are focused on sea-faring cuisine. Patrons will find a range of choices, including flounder, oysters, bay scallops, popcorn shrimp, large shrimp, and deviled crabs, which are typically available in broiled, grilled, or fried varieties. Non-seafood fans will find fare to enjoy as well, including burgers and chicken sandwiches, and home-style meals like pork chops, ribeye steak, and penne Alfredo with chicken or shrimp. Laid back and diverse enough to appeal to coastal cuisine fans, Sea Captains Calabash Seafood is a solid option for seafood fans who like traditional southern food.
