Kilmarlic Golf Club and the Black Tartan Tap Room offer a full entertainment experience. The Kilmarlic course was named among GOLFWEEK’s 15 top courses in NC and was chosen to host the North Carolina Open both in 2004 and 2009. It was also voted one of the top 100 you can play in NC by Golf Styles Magazine.
Designed by award-winning architect Tom Steele, Kilmarlic sits surrounded by 605 acres of historic maritime forest and among sprawling wetlands and sees itself as having a “unique partnership between golf and nature.” Hundreds of acres of Kilmarlic are set aside as a nature preserve - home to wild turkey, deer, otter, geese and other wildlife.
With its impressive designations and design, along with the course‘s “tournament playing condition,” Kilmarlic boasts “a memorable golf experience unlike any other” in the area.
Sitting behind the 18th green is Kilmarlic’s Clubhouse, designed in the style of the legendary Currituck County hunt clubs, and 215 Westside Restaurant - both offering panoramic views of the course and landscape. Westside is a cozy and casual bar and grill with outdoor seating available. The facilities are offered as a setting of “classic southern charm” to enhance any social event - from small luncheon to large wedding reception or even the wedding ceremony.
The staff says its goal is to create a memorable experience and prides itself in attention to detail, extraordinary cuisine and exemplary service.
Fully stocked with top names in apparel and equipment, the Golf Shop also offers individual and group lessons taught at Kilmarlic’s Practice Facility. Kilmarlic is open year round with off-season and K-Club discounts. Tee times are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the Golf Shop opens 5:30 a.m.
