The Gingerbread House Bakery takes the word bakery far beyond its usual meaning. While they offer bakery goods made from scratch including cakes, breads, pastries and cookies, they also make their pizza dough from scratch daily. That’s right! Pizza. They are open for breakfast then close and reopen for dinner to serve a wide variety of pizzas and a salad bar. You won’t miss out on baked goods in the evening for they remain on the menu!
The Gingerbread House has been serving baked goods on Hatteras Island for more than three decades.
Breakfasts include bakery treats, egg sandwiches, omlettes, French toast and breakfast platters. They will delight you with fresh squeezed orange juice and freshly ground coffee.
Dinner choices include regular and specialty pizzas including seafood pizza and one with delicious pesto sauce. Drinks and desserts include milkshakes, root beer floats, cones, banana or brownie splits, and sundaes. You can even order a fresh birthday cake for those special occasions. Pizza can be eaten in or to go. The restaurant opens for breakfast ten closes and reopens for dinner from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Don’t leave without checking out their Gingerbread House mugs and T-Shirts.
