Built in 1988 by Dr. Barrett Welch, the Animal Hospital of Nags Head is a fully-equipped facility that offers a range of services for dog and cats. Wellness care, vaccinations and dental care are provided in a clean, attractive facility for pets’ routine care. When more health needs have to be addressed, there is an in-house lab available for blood work, digital radiology and video endoscope. The hospital also is equipped to do a range of surgeries. A pharmacy and full-service boarding facilities are also on the premises. Specialty dog and cat foods and animal grooming products, vitamins and flea prevention products are available for purchase in the hospital’s waiting room.
Another location for the animal hospital is open five afternoons a week on Hatteras Island in Avon.
