Event- and reunion-ready, this home is one of the largest in Kill Devil Hills in terms of bedroom size, and includes almost 15,000 square feet of indoor living space. Open Ocean is professionally decorated by the popular interior design firm Urban Cottage, known for their upscale design, and contemporary yet warm approach to beach house decor.
You will truly not find another home like this on the Outer Banks. The wide lot size means that 10 of the 27 bedrooms are oceanside, and the pool is elevated next to the dune line to expose sweeping panoramic views over the ocean and has an 8' x 14' built-in hot tub and a large adjacent kiddie pool. Indoors, the amenity list is extensive, and includes a rec room, a sports bar, a theater, an exercise room, an oceanview great room, a gourmet kitchen, an elevator, three laundry rooms, 27 bedrooms (all with private baths), and impressive custom finishes throughout.

Sitting on an acre of land, Open Ocean is quite a sight. Enter
the ground level covered entry porch via the ramp or the stairs. The lowest level of this home includes
eleven king bedrooms, all with private baths with walk-in tile showers. Nearly every bedroom on this level has access to either an east or west-facing deck. Because of the width of the lot, five of the bedrooms face towards the ocean. The 12th bedroom on this floor is a bunk suite with three custom-built double-over-double bunk beds, an in-room lounge area for TV watching or video games, and a private bath with a shower/tub. The ground floor sitting area has a mounted TV and a kitchenette with a refrigerator, a sink, a dishwasher, and a Keurig. All five east bedrooms and the centrally located lounge have sliding glass doors that lead to a deck that spans the width of the house. There is an outdoor ping-pong table, a wide array of outdoor seating options, two enclosed outdoor showers, and stairs that lead to the deck above.

The rec room offers a wall of windows that overlook the pool and on towards the ocean,
as well as a sliding glass door that leads to the large middle floor deck. Amenities to enjoy in the rec room include a pool table, shuffleboard, and a seasonal fireplace positioned under the large flat screen TV. A nearby second kitchen offers two dishwashers, a sink, a standalone icemaker, a beverage fridge, a full-sized refrigerator, an oven, a microwave, a Keurig, a blender, a pantry, and counter height seating at the wrap around island. There is additional bar-height seating against the theater room counter in the rec room. The theater room offers an arcade machine and an oversized projection screen TV with a DVD player, so you can enjoy a unique movie experience in the comfort of your vacation home! An adjacent exercise room's treadmill, dumbbells, and stationary bicycle will help you stay fit while you're on vacation. Bedrooms on this level include nine kings with private baths, all with walk-in tile showers. Three of the king bedrooms have sliding door access to the oceanside covered deck; five have access to west-facing covered decks.

Breathtaking views greet you as you enter the top floor, where you can step onto
covered or open decks that overlook the pool and ocean to experience jaw-dropping views. The
great room includes multiple sitting areas divided by a double-sided seasonal gas fireplace, and
multiple flat screen TVs. The kitchen is designed to feed a crowd with three kitchen islands, one with bar seating for twelve and a serving buffet. Appliances in the kitchen include three refrigerators, five dishwashers, two microwaves, four ovens, two 6-burner stoves, an icemaker, three sinks, as well as multiple Keurigs, drip coffee makers, and blenders. The dining area provides six tables with six chairs each, and there are six extra chairs available throughout this level. The bar area provides a fourth refrigerator, two beverage fridges, an icemaker, a sink, and counter seating for three. Bedrooms include two oceanfront kings with private baths, both with walk-in tile showers (one also has a soaking tub). There are three king bedrooms on the west end of this level, two of which have access to their own private deck, while all of them have private baths with walk-in tile showers. The sixth bedroom on this level has two twin beds and a private bath with a walk-in tile shower.

Check-In Time: An early check-in is not available for this house. Check-in time will be between 4pm and 5pm.
Special Events Welcome: $3,500 special event fee and $3,000 refundable security deposit required for all special events. Maximum of 100 attendees, including the guests already occupying the home. Are you reserving this home for a wedding or special event? Please contact our office to inform us of your plans. You will receive an addendum to the lease which will need to be signed and returned. There is a four-foot-wide compacted rock path along the south side of the home to make it easier to transport large event equipment to the back of the house/pool area.

Special Access Amenities: This home offers a ramp leading to the front
entrance, an elevator that travels to all floors, a king bedroom (#7) on the middle floor features a large roll-in shower and a roll-under sink. Please note that none of our properties are ADA compliant.
