The Kill Devil Hills Location

Kill Devil Hills sits in the heart of the Outer Banks and is a popular vacation spot for active families and large groups. From this oceanfront address at Milepost 7.5, guests enjoy direct beach access along a stretch of Atlantic coastline where lifeguards are stationed every half-mile during the summer season.

Beyond the dune, Kill Devil Hills offers a network of bike and walking paths, playgrounds, a community skate park, go-carts, bowling, miniature golf, laser-tag, and the movies. History lovers can visit the Wright Brothers Memorial, the national park that celebrates the 1903 flight of Wilbur and Orville Wright and houses a reproduction of the Wright Flyer. Water sports are available on both the ocean and the sound.

Grocery stores, shopping, and dining from finer restaurants to family fare are all within easy reach along the beach road and the bypass, which is also dotted with surf shops and colorful boutiques. Venture off the main roads to Colington Island, where fresh seafood is caught and sold and a narrow road winds through maritime forest toward the sound.

Pool: Pool heated by propane. Max pool temp is 85 degrees. The 36.0 x 18.0 private pool is open 4/4/2026 to 10/24/2026 (2026 pool heat cost $800.00) and 3/27/2027 to 10/23/2027 (2027 pool heat cost $800.00).

Special Access Amenities: This home offers a ramp leading to the front entrance and an elevator. The ground floor SE queen has a wheelchair accessible door that leads to the poolside deck (3 stairs to get from the deck to the pool area), and a bath with roll under sink, and low barrier custom tile shower. Please note that none of our homes are ADA compliant.

Special Events Welcome: $3,000 special event fee and $3,000 refundable security deposit required for all special events. Maximum of 75 attendees, including the guests already occupying the home. 2027 Holiday Week Check-In: Our offices will be closed on December 25, 2027 for the Christmas Day holiday. If your 2027 lease check-in date is on Christmas Day please note that we will work to make special arrangements to alter your check-in date.
