This pristine ten-bedroom, ten-and-two-half-bath home is located in the heart of Hatteras Island. In two minutes, find yourself at the Hatteras Landing Marina or the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum. Spend your days lounging on the beach and your nights relaxing in your private spa. Witness the breathtaking sunsets over the Pamlico Sound and wake up to the sunrise on your covered back patio. This oceanfront home offers spectacular views of the Atlantic and is pet-friendly. Host a large event or wedding with the ample space provided. Or, gather with your family and friends for a fun-filled Outer Banks vacation. Jump in your private heated swimming pool and relax by the Tiki Bar in the backyard! MerSea is the perfect home for an ultimate Outer Banks vacation.

Step into the first level to find an arcade room and game room with a small lounge. Play a game of foosball, pinball, or a match of ping-pong as you unwind in the evenings. Relax in the lounge with ocean views and access to the covered patio and backyard. The four King En Suites on this level are equipped with flat-screen TVs. Two King En Suites offer access to the covered patio and backyard. One King En Suite is spacious enough to sleep four in the King over King Bunk Bed, while the other is cozy enough for two. In the foyer, locate the half bath just across the hall from the elevator and staircase.

On the second level, find a similar setup as the first. With two common rooms, one being a theater room. In the foyer, access the wet bar, located outside the second game room with an ocean lounge. Play a game of billiards and have a cold one with the crew as you admire the spectacular ocean views. Each of the four King En Suites on this level is furnished with flat-screen TVs. Admire the ocean views in the two King Suites on the home's east end. The final two King Suites on this level are located in the front of the house. Enjoy the privacy of the single bed En Suite, or choose to stay in the Double King Bunk En Suite across the hall.

Ride the elevator to the third level of the home to witness the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean from the comfort of your living room. Relax in the large sectional as you play your favorite sport on the flat-screen TV. As you're unwinding in the family room, marvel at the spacious and modern kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to craft a perfect dinner. Enjoy the perks of the massive island and breakfast bar, seating six, with an extra sink. Head into the dining room to enjoy your delicious home-cooked meal in the evening. Once dinner is through, walk onto the deck and delight in a desert while feeling the ocean breeze through your hair.

In the backyard, spend some time lounging in your private heated swimming pool or relax in the hot tub under the stars. Fire up the gas grill for a late lunch, and enjoy it in the comfort of your picnic area. Your extended backyard also makes a perfect place for hosting an Outer Banks wedding or event! After a long day of fun in the sun, rinse off in the outdoor shower and head to town for local dining and shopping galore!

MerSea is pet-friendly, so there is no need to leave your pooch at home! You can bring up to two dogs to our pet-friendly property. No cats or other animals, dogs only. The pet fee of $135 is waived for this property. Pets stay free!

Want added comfort? Consider adding the Heated Pool option! A Heated Pool option can be added upon request for $50 per night of your reservation. This fee is added to your reservation at the time of the request, which must be a minimum of 72 hours before arrival. Pool heat must be added for the entirety of your stay.

This pool is heated by a heat pump. An ambient air temperature of 60 degrees or higher is needed to heat the pool, meaning that if the temperature drops below 60 degrees the pump will not continue to heat. Max pool temperature is 80 degrees.**

**Private heated pools will open on April 1st and close on November 1st. Hot tubs are open year-round. Pools and hot tubs are cleaned weekly and no later than 6pm on check-in day. Vendors are subject to enter the backyard to clean the pool and/or spa on scheduled cleaning days. No pets allowed in pools.**

**Special events are welcome at this home! For an additional fee plus tax, you and your party can host a special event. All events require approval via Event Addendum. Please contact KEES for details and arrangements for your special event reservation. Fees vary by property. Please contact Guest Services for more information.**

Most know The Cotton Gin as a must-stop shop for fine gifts, beachwear, souvenirs and so much more, but this retailer has a long-standing history within the Outer Banks. A local landmark that holds almost a century of memories, The Cotton Gin started from humble beginnings and continues to adapt to the times and tourists. Tommy Wright’s family has been in the Outer Banks for nearly 200 years. His great-great grandfather, Jacob Francis Wright, shipwrecked in Duck back in the early 1800s. Calling these barrier islands his new home, Wright and his family acclimated to their new environment.

 

Adaptation is a common theme for the Wright family. Tommy and his wife Candace, who continue to steer The Cotton Gin, have seen not only their business change with the times, but the Outer Banks as a vacation destination as well. A farm market in Jarvisburg eventually transformed and flourished into several retail locations dotting the Outer Banks.

 

“As the area changed and tourism took off in the 1960s, the family saw people coming for vacations, so they began to grow vegetables and things developed from there,” says Tommy Wright. The Wright family expanded upon the farm market and began to remodel a working cotton gin, later transforming the gin into The Cotton Gin general store in the late 1960s. While the additions to the farm store drew visitors, it was their encounters with the Wright family that kept people coming back year after year, which is something that remains true today.
