About this Property

Linens are Provided FREE with this Home! Remember those vacations you used to take at the cottages at Nags Head, the ones with character that didn't break the bank? Now's your chance to relive those memories, but this time with air conditioning! Located in the heart of the traditional Nags Head cottages, the original home, built in 1965, now serves as the upper floor. The lower level, while newer and outfitted with modern amenities, still holds the architectural flavor of the all-wood interior, consistent with the juniper and cedar Nags Head cottages of yesteryear. With a deep breath, you can feel time slowing as you relax on the corner wraparound porch, taking in magnificent views of the ocean to the east and Jockey's Ridge to the west. So don't miss out on the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing vacation, where summer breezes abound and the beach is your backyard.

For most people, a vacation is a chance to unwind and escape from a day to day. However, some find inspiration and prospective business opportunities during their travels.

That’s what happened to John Hugh and his wife, Donna, when they were traveling south from Maine on vacation. “We took a drive down to Georgia and made our way back up and fell in love with Corolla,” he remembers.

In Maine, John worked as a fisherman, scallop diver and lobsterman, along with owning a lobster wharf. There, he also opened his own restaurant, bringing the offerings of the sea to diner’s tables.

It wasn’t until that trip to scenic and serene Corolla that John considered opening an additional restaurant. When a building in the Monterey Shopping Center was available to purchase, he made his move and opened Sun Fish Grill in 2009.
