Turn your collection of sea glass treasures found on recent beachcombing excursions into wearable works of art with this special class that is hosted by the Dare County Arts Council. Using small and colorful bits of sea glass, students will learn the basics of wrapping design to create stunning pendants and pieces of jewelry that will sparkle for years to come.

The class is hosted by talented artist Laura Howard, who will show students the basics wrapping techniques required to create a pendant necklace that can hold a unique piece of sea glass with style. After practicing with clear sea glass, students will move on to create their own finished piece with vibrantly colored sea glass for a stunning necklace pendant that won’t be found anywhere else. Students can also accent their finished product with colorful beads if they so choose, and all supplies are included in this workshop. (Participants can bring along their own sea glass if they desire.) Suitable for anyone ages 14 and up, this class is a great way to discover a new artistic skill while creating a one-of-a-kind souvenir that pays homage to the stunning Outer Banks shoreline and coastal landscape.
