Fall is the best time for southern gardeners to plant an array of trees and shrubs, and during this special workshop, students of all skill levels will learn all the ins and outs of ensuring that their fall plantings continue to grow in the years and decades to come. Held at one of the prettiest spots for seasonal landscapes, this special class has experts guiding the way towards a successful fall planting season.

The workshop is held at the Elizabethan Gardens in the heart of Roanoke Island, and costs $15 for members of the site and $30 for not-yet members. Open only to 12 people, visitors may want to sign up in advance as early as possible, as these special workshops tend to fill up quickly as they are popular with locals and visitors alike. During this two-hour class, students will learn all the proper techniques of preparing the soil, and planting a variety of different woody shrubs and trees, with a lot of hands-on practice to ensure these skills can be transferred to their own home and backyard landscape. With lots of tips and tricks along the way, this class is ideal for anyone who wants to learn how to make the most out of the OBX fall planting season.
