Grab a paddleboard and get ready for one of the hottest races along the Outer Banks with this seasonal SUP competition that allows local and visiting watersports fans to let their talents shine. The OBX SUP Competition is an engaging and wholly fun event that features a scenic course in the heart of the Outer Banks, as well as plenty of opportunities to meet and mingle with fellow SUP enthusiasts.

The OBX SUP Competition takes place in the town of Manteo, where contestants will race on a 3-mile or 6-mile course around the famed Roanoke Island Festival Park. The ensuing route provides plenty of stunning scenery along the way that’s best enjoyed from a waterfront perspective, and which includes gorgeous views of the downtown area, the Elizabeth II replica sailing ship, and the Festival Park itself. After the race, top finishers will receive awards in varying categories, and a complimentary lunch will be provided, giving SUP fans a chance to chat with their fellow water lovers. The two distinct course options makes this race appropriate for beginners and experts alike, and the event is a great way to celebrate SUP while enjoying a gorgeous view or two in the heart of Manteo.

Proceeds for this event go to the Outer Banks Center for Dolphin Research.
