Based out of Wilmington but accessing a number of local beaches depending on where the waves are hitting, this friendly surf school allows surfing newcomers and old pros alike to hone their skills and try something new on southern North Carolina’s renowned surfing beaches.

The home base for KowaBunga Surf School is found on the eastern edge of Wilmington, just before the Causeway Bridge to Wrightsville Beach, which makes it a convenient destination for coastal and inland visitors alike. A number of classes and lessons are available, including private and group sessions, with a focus on surfing or skate boarding. Day camps may also be available during the summer months, and are a great way for newcomers to go from newbie to pro over the course of a few in-depth sessions. No matter how a new surfer decides to learn, the staff is friendly and professional, and the lessons are kid-friendly, ensuring that water lovers of all ages can join in the fun.
