Kids can get their hands dirty and explore their inherent creative side at this cool summertime art class that will teach students all about the unique things that can be accomplished with clay.

The Kids Clay Workshop takes place at the Dare County Arts Council center in the heart of downtown Manteo, and features a wealth of activities that lets kids get creative in a variety of interactive ways. During the three day class, which is held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, kids will create clay pendants, clay critters, stepping stones, and much more, and each session will include and introduce an array of unique and innovative techniques. From hand building masterpieces to taking a turn at the pottery wheel, this class delves into the world of clay from the inside out. The Kids Clay Workshop is especially designed for kids ages 6-13, and all the materials and supplies are included in the cost. Hosted by artist and Manteo Elementary School art teacher Jillion Schuler, kids can learn from a local expert while discovering an incredible new talent. As a result of this expertise and wealth of activities, this class is sure to be a highlight of a summer vacation for artistically inclined visitors and locals alike.
