Young artists can pay homage to one of the most beloved critters to visit the Outer Banks coastline via this special class that focuses on creating a stunning sea turtle painting. The summertime Art Parties are hosted by the Dare County Arts Council, and during this late July session, students will learn how to create a sea turtle painting to take home as a beloved and treasured souvenir.
The class is led by acclaimed artist and art instructor Mari Beth LaRose, and during the two-hour timeframe, students will learn how to create the sea turtle artwork from the ground up, with every step outlined along the way. By the end of the class, kids will go home with their very own 11” x 14” masterpiece, as well as a wealth of new techniques and skills to help them explore their future creative endeavors. The class is open to kids of all ages, (although kids ages 6 and up must be accompanied by an adult), and the $30-$35 fee covers all supplies – including the painting and canvas – as well as a snack and beverage during the class itself. With a decidedly Outer Banks theme, this Art Party is a great way for kids to create lasting memories through their own handmade masterpiece.
