If you are a bookaholic or even a Sunday reader, you will find something to satisfy your desire from non-fiction works and current novels to classics, children’s books and coffee table choices. Their website has a host of e-books to download including 99 cent Agatha Christie novels.

Interested in meeting authors? They have a line-up of book signings on their calendar. These usually occur on Wednesdays. Call the stores or check out the website for dates and times. Pick up books on the Outer Banks as well as national bestsellers here. This is a great place to browse and lose your self in every kind of book imaginable. Island Bookstore is so dedicated to the reader, all three stores are open year round only closing Christmas day. The hours indicated are for the Corolla shop. Duck hours:Monday - Friday 9-8,  Saturday 9-8, Sunday 10-5; Kitty Hawk hours: Monday - Friday 9-8,  Saturday 9 -6,  Sunday 9-5.
