The GEM Center on the Outer Banks of North Carolina is a community-based nonprofit organization that offers adult day services. The GEM Center supports adults with memory loss and physical and mental disabilities, such as Alzheimer’s and dementia.
The Gem Center runs an early memory loss family member support group and offers educational information about adult care.
The GEM Center administers “Project C.A.R.E,” which stands for Caregiver Alternatives to Running on Empty.” Project C.A.R.E. program that helps minority and low-income families caring for persons with dementia at home.
