Down Under Restaurant

Down Under is a year-round eatery in Waves that serves lunch and dinner. They offer a variety of sandwiches, seafood, burgers, pizzas, beef, chicken, pasta, soups, appetizers and salads. Celebrating more than twenty years of serving Hatteras Island, they enjoy pleasing your palette with tasty dishes from a good old grilled cheese sandwich to a wild-caught Alaskan salmon burger. Or…you can try a kangaroo, veggie, crab, or chicken burger! A Down Under special is the Vegemite sandwich and the Great Australian Bite – grilled ground beef covered with grilled onion, cheese, lettuce, tomato and fried egg. Feast on a host of dinner entrees including crabcakes, stuffed shrimp, beef medallions, fried seafood, cheese tortellini, surf and turf Alfredo or crab legs. Experiment with their delicious Great White Shark – tacos filled with grilled fish, black beans, jalapenos and cream cheese and crab salsa. WOW! Pizzas have a flair here including shrimp and crabmeat with white sauce and a Mexican pizza with smoked pork, corn and black beans. Down Under serves beer, wine and mixed drinks.
