Dockside ‘N Duck Seafood Market has been owned and operated by a local family of commercial fishermen and farmers since 1987. The owner (a commercial fishmen) has been featured on N.C. Flavor for Currituck Soft Crabbing.

After a stop at Dockside, there’s nothing left for you to do to create a delicious southern meal, except prepare the fresh seafood or steak you’ll find at the market. From their homemade bread to appetizers, sides, hushpuppies and delicious pies, they have “absolutely everything you need for a "down home feast,” all in one place!

Dockside’s says its seafood, most of it locally caught, is the “freshest available” on the OBX. It includes crabs, crabmeat, shrimp, clams, scallops, oysters, mussels, fish and lobsters. And if you opt for steamed shellfish or lobster, Dockside will prepare that for you as well. The market was listed in the Top 10 Best Seafood Markets in North Carolina on culturetrip.com for 2015.

The market’s seafood-inspired appetizers include their award-winning, made-from-scratch she crab soup, crab cakes and seafood dips. Sides are slaw, hushpuppies, salad and tomato pie. Completing the dinner are fresh homemade key lime and fruit pies and fresh-baked herb and French-style bread. Dockside also carries a complete line of sauces and marinades, along with utensils and supplies to meet all your cooking needs.

Also available from Dockside are large party and catering services, with an extended menu. The market is open Easter to Thanksgiving with shorter days and weeks in the spring and fall.

Author Padgett Powell wrote in Travel and Leisure that Dockside “…has the best stock of what might have to be called seafood accessories I have ever seen. They'll get you the Zatarain's Crab Boil from the back if it's not on the shelves and you prefer it to Old Bay, and live crabs to go with it.” Rated #1 on Trip Advisor in 2015 for Seafood in Duck, NC.
