Embark on an adventure off the Outer Banks shoreline for this fun annual event that’s held in the heart of the Currituck Mainland. The Currituck Heritage Festival is a veritable celebration of All Things Inner Banks, with a wealth of activities, fun and games for kids, and a famous BBQ competition that will have all attendees ready to dive into this North Carolina staple.

The Currituck Heritage Festival is held at the Currituck County Rural Center in central Powells Point, and it features a partnership with the Currituck County NC Cooperative Extension Center and the Kansas City Barbeque Society. As a result, visitors can look forward to a great day that’s filled with family fun, and which also features the smells and excitement of a sanctioned KCBS Cook-Off. In addition to the competition, where judges will determine the best BBQ in the region, visitors will be treated to plenty of local fare and food vendors that will serve up this Eastern NC favorite. With lots of activities throughout the day, and plenty of food, vendors, arts, crafts, and other unique ways to experience what Currituck County has to offer, this festival will appeal to fun-loving families of all varieties who want to discover how cool the coast can be off the Outer Banks.
