Let the young anglers in your family enjoy a day of fun and fishing on the water by taking part in the 10th Annual Youth Fishing Tournament in the heart of downtown Manteo. This special fishing tournament that’s just for kids allows visitors and locals alike a chance to drop a line, and discover how much fun fishing in the sunny Outer Banks can be.

The fishing tournament is completely free and is open to all anglers who are 4-17 years old. (Parents should note that anglers ages 16 and older will need a Coastal Recreational Fishing License per North Carolina state regulations, which can be picked up at any bait or tackle store.) The fun starts at 8:00 a.m. along the waterfront in downtown Manteo, and the tournament caps off with special awards for the winning participants, as well as a casual cook-out. Kids only have to bring along a rod and reel, as all the bait needed for great catches will be provided at the scene. A fun and completely budget-friendly way to enjoy a sunny day by the water, this fishing tournament will inspire newcomers and locals alike to fall in love with fishing on the Outer Banks.
