The Annual Wooden Boat Show isn’t just for master craftsmen and adults, as kids will find a wealth of activities designed with them in mind at the corresponding Wooden Boat Kids event. Held throughout the two-day festival at the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort, this event allows kids to join in the fun through an array of hands-on activities, demonstrations, arts and crafts, competitions, and more.

There’s lots of ways for kids to have fun while honing their maritime knowledge at the Wooden Boat Kids event, which is available throughout the festival in the heart of downtown Beaufort. Kids can stop by the engaging museum to check out demonstrations of traditional maritime skills and intricate boat displays, can compete in sailboat races and competitions, and can even enjoy hands-on educational activities to learn more about this centuries-old tradition. With so much to see and do, kids will want to linger at the Maritime Museum throughout the event, to learn more about how wooden boats connect with the Down East and Crystal Coast environments. Best of all, the assortment of activities are all free to the public, and are readily available for the duration of the festival, making it easy to pop in and start a new adventure.
