The Elizabethan Gardens celebrates the birth of Virginia Dare, the first English child born in the New World, with special discounted rates on admission to the gardens, as well as a wealth of activities that will delight young and old visitors alike. On Virginia Dare's Birthday, the rate to enter the gardens will drop with $2 off admission to commemorate Virginia's 431st birthday in 2019.

In addition to the discounted admission price to the stunning gardens, the site will also host a number of activities throughout the morning and afternoon to commemorate the iconic date. These activities and events include a plant sale with 30% off select plans and 10% off Virginia Dare statues, as well as a wealth of other fun activities such as games and / or a story hour for kids, educational sessions on Virginia's legacy, and so much more. (See the Elizabethan Garden's website for a complete schedule and information on the festivities.) The day will also feature cake and ice cream in the Queen’s Rose Garden in the afternoon. All in all, the collection of activities as well as the reduced admission rate will make everyone want to celebrate the birthday of the Outer Banks’ first citizen.
