That Jewelry Store

Their motto: “Jewelry, it’s cheaper than therapy” - sums up the lighthearted attitude of this friendly family-owned business.

Besides being a fun spot to browse and shop, That Jewelry Store is a great place to find a uniquely crafted little piece of the Outer Banks to wear around your neck or wrist or give as a gift. The shop’s displays are filled with lots of sea glass pendants, bracelets and earrings designed by local artists, and the shop also supports artisans and craftsmen from 22 other states.  A couple of collections you won’t find anywhere else on the OBX are Miss Kitty’s original sea glass and pearl pendants and the work of a Massachusetts artist who does silver paintings on glass.

Although the shop’s specialty is its huge sterling silver collection, including some by world-renown designers, it also features a large $15 selection of costume jewelry with a nautical flair.

Besides jewelry, the shop sells original paintings on canvas, plaques, metal wall sculptures, pottery and other items for home, office or beach cottage decor. Also available, reproduced on cutting boards and other useful items, are the popular designs of Hatteras artist Stephanie Kiker. And the shop’s collection of raku ceramic art by William Turner is particularly stunning.

Complementing the shop’s bright, upbeat, beachy vibe are colorful hanging umbrellas, paper star lamps and a lovely mural painting by shop owner Sherri. That Jewelry Store is located at Buccaneer's Walk, on the sound side of the Bypass, just south of the Kitty Hawk Post Office.
