Budding scientists and young Outer Banks fans alike will have a ball uncovering the natural wonders of this barrier island coastline by signing up for the Surf And Science Summer Camp – a week-long day camp that will focus on Marine Science for its upcoming 7/17- 7/21 session.
A number of weekly camps are held throughout the summer months at the unique UNC Coastal Studies Institute in the heart of Wanchese, and this special session will focus on all the mysteries and amazing features of marine science. During the full week of learning, campers can expect plenty of outdoor activities courtesy of special kayaking trips through the sound, explorations on a pontoon boat, snorkeling, and much more. The camp is open for all kids ages 10-15, and is $250 for each weekly session. Parents will want to reserve a spot as far in advance as possible, as the camps tend to fill up quickly with explorers who want to learn all there is to know about the local coastline.
