Sandbar 5K Race

Start your day with a beautiful sunrise over the ocean and an ensuing trek through one of the prettiest corners of the central Outer Banks with this charity race that features great views, and a great cause. The Sandbar 5K Race is a fast-paced loop along the beach of Kitty Hawk, and is a fun way to give back to the community while enjoying the gorgeous scenery that the Outer Banks has to offer.

The Sandbar 5K Race is unique in that it benefits The Outer Banks Relief Foundation, which is a local organization that provides financial assistance to people who live and work on the Outer Banks, but who are burdened with a debilitating disease or personal tragedy. In addition to helping out this beloved local cause, participants will also receive a nice array of race swag which includes an event T-shirt, a medal at the finish line, an iced towel, and a selection of post-race refreshments. To sweeten the event, the top male and female finishers will also be treated to Outer Banks weekend vacation packages, while second and third place finishers will get gift certificates from some of the area’s top local restaurants.
