Poinsettias are a staple of the holiday season, and during this special workshop that’s held at the Elizabethan Gardens, visitors will learn all about this colorful plant – while enjoying a free Poinsettia plant to take home as a special gift.
The Elizabethan Gardens hosts a wide array of workshops throughout the year that focus on unique plant species, gardening techniques, and other seasonal topics, and during this workshop, the Poinsettia will be in the spotlight. Over the course of a lively discussion, students will learn all about the unique red and green foliage, the indigenous Mexican roots of the plant, as well as all the dos and donts for cultivating and maintaining this seasonal bloom. A free poinsettia is included in the class, and visitors will have a fine time along the way learning about one of the most favorite flowers of the holiday season. Held in early December, this fun and relaxed workshop is a great way to ring in the holiday season with a little gardening knowledge and education. The class is $15 for members and $30 for not-yet members, and registration is limited to just 12 people, so visitors will want to make their reservations as far in advance as possible.
