Held at the scenic Soundside Event Site in Nags Head, the popular event challenges teams to design homemade flying machines capable of launching an empty 1/6 keg barrel — with bragging rights going to the team whose keg soars the farthest.
Equal parts engineering competition, festival, and coastal party, OBX Brewtag draws spectators from across the region to watch the imaginative aircraft take flight above the Roanoke Sound.
