• Wednesday, October 25th - Saturday, October 28th

Open to everyone, and historically one of the most popular and well-loved surf fishing tournaments on the beach, the original Red Drum Tournament may have a new name and a new organizer, but it is still one of the best reasons for anglers in-the-know to make an October visit to the Outer Banks.

The tournament is held on Hatteras Island, which is well-known as one of the best fall fishing destinations for anglers all across the Outer Banks. Anglers can set up their poles all along the island – anywhere from ramps 23 through 38 – to start casting for the seasonal drum that make a regular fall appearance along the shoreline. Winners will be treated to a nice array of cash prizes, and each day cumulates with a number of events so visitors can meet and greet with their fellow anglers. The end result is a multi-day fishing party with lots of great catches and fun to go around. The tournament is open to NCBBA members and visitors alike, and is one of the most popular tournaments on the island for seasoned locals and longtime fishing fans. Grab the poles and bait, and head down to Hatteras Island in the fall to sample how great the beach can be when the weather cools down, and the fishing heats up.
