With its name taken from “Nauticus,” the Latin word for ship, it’s obvious why this store is a good fit for the Outer Banks. The brand has evolved from its start in 1983 as a men’s outwear collection to a line of clothing and accessories for men and women that reflects the adventuresome lifestyle. The brand also includes children’s clothing, but no kids’ apparel is available at the outlet store in Nags Head. After initially carrying only men’s clothing, the Nautica outlet now also sells women’s clothing. Choices include colorful polo shirts, stylish cargo shorts and contemporary bathing suits for men and classic and contemporary tops, dresses and skirts for women, as well as swimwear. The store also sells a limited selection of luggage, and fragrances and watches. But Nautica’s home collection is not carried at the outlet store.
