Discover how beautiful and captivating the Outer Banks can be after hours with this special two-day tour that shows photographers of all skill levels how to capture the beauty of the islands at night. The Milky Way & Night Photography on the Outer Banks Photo Tour takes full advantage of the dark skies of Hatteras Island through an in-depth tour and class that covers some of the region’s most notable landmarks, as well as some of the most beautiful landscapes along the coastline.

The event launches in the heart of Buxton on Hatteras Island, which is known as a budding “Dark Skies” designated region, which means that it is one of the few spots in the country that have pure night skies with few artificial light distractions. In this dark landscape, photographers will learn all about how to capture the beauty of the darkened night skies through an immersive tour that covers area lighthouses, fishing piers, sand dunes, nature trails, and even fishing boats throughout the area. Enchanting throughout, this event is a fine opportunity for nature fans and photographers alike to uncover how gorgeous the island can be when the sun goes down, and to see how much fun capturing the local landscape can be.
