Believe it or not, there actually is an ice cream shop in downtown Manteo that sells Breyer’s Ice Cream by the scoop. Always tasting fresh, Mabel's Scoop Shop products are the perfect answer for a hot summer day, or any day for that matter. They offer sundaes, cones, milkshakes and floats. While they don't have a gazillion flavors, they can jazz up your choice with a host of delectable toppings. If you check out their Facebook Page, you will see Manteo locals wreathed in smiles having a treat at Mabel's. You also will discover weekly specials that will lure you to the charming parlor. They advertise treats such as fresh lemon squares, strawberry floats and brownie sundaes. The shop has a few tables and chairs, but the location is so superb, you can walk with your treat along the Manteo boardwalk and view the water, which is just across the street. Above all else...they actually serve divine mint chocolate chip ice cream...and it isn't even saturated with green dye! Hurrah!
